Charges and Penal Codes
ProtonCAD allows each community to maintain a custom penal code — a list of charges that can be applied to arrests and court actions. Your administrator manages this list under Settings → Penal Codes.
Penal Code Structure
Each charge has a code (e.g. PC-187), a title, a description, a class (felony, misdemeanor, infraction), and an optional fine amount.
Applying Charges
Charges are selected when creating arrest reports. Multiple charges can be applied to a single arrest. The system records each charge against the citizen's profile for future lookup.
Common Charge Categories
- Crimes Against Persons (assault, robbery, murder)
- Crimes Against Property (theft, arson, vandalism)
- Drug Offences
- Traffic Violations
- Weapons Offences
