What is an Expungement?
An expungement is a formal request to have a citizen's criminal record cleared or sealed. In the ProtonCAD Courthouse, citizens submit a written petition and an administrator or judge reviews and approves or denies it.
Submitting a Request
Navigate to Courthouse → Expungements → New Request. Fill in your reason for the petition and any supporting context. Submit the form — your request enters a Pending queue.
Review Process
Community administrators and court-role members can see all pending expungement requests. They can approve or deny each request with a written note explaining the decision.
After Approval
When an expungement is approved, the associated charges and arrest records are marked as expunged on the citizen's profile and will no longer appear in standard LEO lookups.
