Before You Start

You need a ProtonCAD account to create a community. Registration is free and takes under a minute. Once logged in, you'll be taken to the portal where you can create or join communities.

Step 1: Open the Community Wizard

Click Create Community on the portal home page. This opens the setup wizard which walks you through the process in three short steps.

Step 2: Name Your Community

Enter your community's display name (e.g. Paleto Bay Roleplay) and choose a URL slug (e.g. pbrp). The slug becomes part of your community's internal identifier and cannot be changed after creation.

  • Keep slugs short — 3 to 8 characters is ideal
  • Lowercase letters and hyphens only
  • Match your server's abbreviation if you have one

Step 3: Choose a Plan

Select the plan that fits your server. You can start on Free and upgrade at any time — all your data and settings carry over automatically.

Step 4: You're Live

Once the wizard completes, your community dashboard opens immediately. Your next steps are to configure departments and invite your first members.

Tip: Set up your departments in Settings → Departments before inviting members. It makes onboarding smoother for your officers.
